Properties of the main active ingredients:
Devil's claw (Harpagophytum procumbens) is a plant native to the Kalahari Desert in South Africa. It grows in the savannas of Namibia, South Africa, and Botswana. The roots of the devil's claw plant have been used for centuries by the Khoisan people of South Africa to treat pain, arthritis, indigestion, and skin diseases.
Devil's claw extract has a unique chemical composition that includes iridoids, phenols, and bitter substances, along with some fatty acids and trace elements such as selenium, magnesium, aluminum, zinc, and calcium. Many of devil's claw's benefits are attributed to a compound known as harpagoside, which is believed to have anti-inflammatory and analgesic (pain-relieving) properties.
The plant is commonly used to treat rheumatic conditions affecting the joints, tendons, bones, and muscles. These include back pain, osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, and tendonitis. It is also used therapeutically for fibromyalgia, sciatica, neuralgia, gout, and symptoms of Lyme disease.
Menthol has a refreshing and analgesic effect. It is used for various conditions affecting the musculoskeletal system - mild muscle and joint pain, as well as itching and redness caused by minor skin irritations. When applied to the skin, menthol causes a cooling sensation, then warms the application site. It quickly relieves pain by making nerve endings less sensitive to pain and itching.
Aloe Vera extract contains many active ingredients, including vitamins A, C, E and B 12. Applying aloe vera gel to the skin reduces irritation and neutralizes the sensation of pain, swelling, itching and burning on the skin. It stimulates collagen synthesis and supports skin regeneration, accelerating the recovery period for wounds, inflammation and abrasions. Aloe extract hydrates the skin and has a cooling effect.
