The little-known anabolic factor – mTOR If you've never heard of
mTOR , then read very carefully, because it's one of the most powerful mechanisms of anabolic and protein synthesis processes known to man...
And... you've never even managed to get close to the maximum of its fantastic potential...
mTOR (Mammalian Target of Rapamycin) is a large proline-directed serine-threonine protein kinase that
is responsible for a wide range of physiological and metabolic functions in several cell types, including adipocytes (fat cells) and myocytes (muscle cells)... mTOR is also responsible for hypertrophy (increase in muscle cell size, for example), protein synthesis, and tissue morphogenesis... It is for this reason that substances that regulate its action have been intensively sought for a long time...
Many data suggest that these amino acids are capable of directly regulating
mTOR signaling pathways in skeletal muscle, including the possibility that these pathways activate some of the cellular signaling elements along the mTOR pathway related to insulin and growth factor signaling...
However, the same data show that amino acid-induced activation of mTOR signaling is not universal. There is evidence that the mechanism of mTOR activation can be triggered by both a given tissue and a specific amino acid. To be precise, the amino acid leucine is identified as primarily responsible for amino acid-induced activation of mTOR and, consequently, for the effect of mTOR on metabolism and protein synthesis in the body.
The effectiveness of amino acids on mTOR signaling is eliminated at low concentrations of leucine and increases with increasing levels of this amino acid. Other branched-chain amino acids have a similar effect, but to a much lesser extent.

Leucine IS the star... BUT... In other words, leucine is the “star” in this product, but the other two branched-chain amino acids (isoleucine and valine) must also be present to achieve maximum results...

Ratio 8:1:1 With the above in mind, we formulated leucine, isoleucine, and valine in
USPLabs Modern BCAA™ at an 8:1:1 ratio.
The rationale for leucine specifically is that, from a purely technical perspective, only it and its structurally related amino acids are responsible for the increase in mTOR that is associated with BCAA supplementation.

Results and value As you know, some people double, triple, and even quadruple their BCAA dosage, which is in a 2:1:1 or 4:1:1 ratio, to achieve better results.
Considering that leucine is the amino acid largely responsible for the effect described above (especially in skeletal muscle), taking an 8:1:1 formula eliminates the need to increase the dosage. This complements the other benefits of this product.
On the other hand, we need to pay attention to amino acid transport and metabolism. The three branched-chain amino acids (leucine, isoleucine, and valine) compete with each other for the same transport systems. For this reason, high concentrations of isoleucine and valine would lower intracellular levels of leucine. You don't want that, obviously. Things are further complicated by the fact that, after being absorbed by the body, leucine first performs other structural functions (not related to protein metabolism) before activating the mTOR signaling mechanisms...
For these reasons, supplements containing BCAAs in a 2:1:1 or 4:1:1 ratio can actually neutralize anabolic effects, as the three amino acids compete with each other in metabolic systems.

8:1:1 – The Truth By increasing the “normal” ratio of leucine to the other two branched-chain amino acids, we achieve two things:
1.
The need for any increase in the dosage is eliminated , as we have doubled the amount of this component, which is primarily responsible for the increase in metabolism and protein synthesis characteristic of BCAAs.
2. The metabolic competition between the three amino acids
will not cause a decrease in leucine levels , i.e. it will not be unable to regulate mTOR.
Simply put,
the 2:1:1 and 4:1:1 ratio is effective but not optimal for mTOR activation and the mTOR-related increase in protein synthesis.

Directions : As a dietary supplement, mix 1 serving (2 level scoops) with approximately 600 ml of water and shake vigorously for 30 seconds. Sip during exercise.
