Bitter salt - Epsom salt
Epsom salt
What is Epsom salt?
Epsom salt is not salt in the popular sense of the term. It is a mineral composed of magnesium, sulfur, water and oxygen. With its small crystals, it looks like table salt. Although the element is found in many mineral waters, it gets its name (Epsom salt) in honor of the English mineral water source Epsom, from whose water the first Epsom salt was obtained more than three centuries ago. This happens after evaporating the mineral water to white crystals with a bitter taste and laxative effect. Epsom salt has no odor and is pH neutral for the skin. Thanks to its unique composition, Epsom salt has long gained popularity as a natural remedy for many diseases and an indispensable substance for maintaining health, youth and beauty. The combination of sulfur and magnesium has an antibacterial effect, cleanses, rejuvenates, softens dry and rough skin, protects hair from breakage, frees the body from toxins and has a calming effect on the nervous system. Epsom salt baths saturate the body with magnesium and sulfur ions.
The product is used in cosmetic procedures for skin, hair and nails.
