Action and properties of turmeric extract
Turmeric (Curcuma longa) is an angiosperm plant of the ginger family (Zingiberaceae), native to India and other parts of Southeast Asia. Its numerous health benefits, characteristic taste and aroma make it a popular ingredient in cooking and traditional medicine. Due to the specific yellow color of the crushed, dried root of the turmeric plant, the plant is also known as the “golden spice”.
