Collagen is the most abundant protein in the human body. It is a major building block of skin, joints, tendons, muscles, bones and blood vessels and plays a vital role in maintaining the structural integrity of the body. Unfortunately, with each passing year, the body produces about 1% less collagen, and due to the peculiarities of the diet in developed countries, its intake is progressively decreasing. The Total Body Marine Collagen™ food supplement with added hyaluronic acid, glutamine and biotin from the Natural Factors brand is designed to compensate for this deficiency in order to help slow down aging and maintain healthy skin, bones and muscles.
The fish collagen powder from the Total Body Collagen series has the same composition and properties of Collactive® collagen as the product 2628NF, but with added “extras” – hyaluronic acid, L-glutamine, L-tryptophan, vitamin C and biotin, the benefits of which are indicated in 3664WN. Here, biotin is in a large dose, which suggests a good effect on nails and hair. The richest in bioactive nutrients for skin, nails, hair, muscles and joints product from the Total Body Collagen™ series.
What is collagen?
This protein is the building block of various types of connective tissue in the human body, which also determines its key role in the normal functioning of the body. It ensures the structural integrity of the skin, joints, tendons, muscles, bones, blood vessels and intestines. It is made up of numerous essential and non-essential amino acids, linked in collagen triple helices.
There are 28 types of collagen in the human body, the most common of which – about 2/3 of the total content – is type 1. It provides the structure of tendons, ligaments, skin and some internal organs. This is exactly what fish collagen is, which is the main ingredient in this dietary supplement.
Why fish collagen?
There are several reasons why fish collagen is preferred over other types offered in the form of dietary supplements. First of all, its bioavailability, which significantly exceeds that of pork, beef and poultry, is due to its lower molecular size and weight, which facilitate overcoming the intestinal barrier and its entry into the bloodstream.
Fish collagen is primarily derived from the skin, scales, and hide of fish, which are rarely used as food products, making it a much more sustainable source than its counterparts. It is also suitable for people who have difficulty accepting alternative forms, such as religious restrictions or concerns about diseases in pets.
Recommended daily dose of the product: For adults over 18 years of age. 1 measuring spoon (2.9 g) dissolved in water or juice.
