The herb is also known by the names Forest/Yellow Goldenrod . It contains essential oil, flavonoids, triterpene saponins, and phenolic compounds.
The plant has anti-inflammatory, diuretic, astringent, antibacterial and choleretic (bile-producing) properties. In folk medicine it is recommended for diseases of the kidneys, bladder, nephrolithiasis.
